Shout You Heavens

A song of laugh and praise
As to you O God we raise,
A joyful chorus to the skies
And lift our hands to raise you high,
What earthly splendour can be seen?
To compare with you our glorious king,
Your majesty compares to none
It began with you father spirit son.

You reach into our very core
When touched by you we all want more,
There’s nothing in our very being
That you O lord are never seeing,
And still you love and pour out grace
On us your children a broken race.

But you O God you come and fill
And in dark times our soul you still,
You take us out of our despair
And lavish us with gentle care.

Our offering now to you we bring
Of shouts and praise, our everything,
We give our hearts, our lives, our time
And join with you in life divine.

So shout you heavens, birds come sing
And join with us in bringing in
The new creation kingdom sight
Filling the earth with God’s pure light.

Broken Life

A society fragmented, broken, torn apart
Messed up and confused with a dysfunctional heart
The outwardly appearance tries to cover a thousand fears
Of knowing who we are and facing a thousand tears.
There’s something deep within that wants to know what’s right
But gets crushed by the pain that cannot bare the fight
I ask lord what can we do, to cure a broken race
To help them find the truth and your sweet saving grace?
I remember the words of old, an instruction to us all
“Love one another as I love you” to reach them in their fall

See God’s already done it; he’s shown his human face
And we are but the channels, ambassadors of his grace
We bring the news to many and spread his love around
To bring God’s great creation to a place of solid ground
I thank the lord that in him there is hope for all
For he’s the great redeemer who makes us beings whole

No addiction too great, no pain too small
God the great creator tends to it all
Every stone will be upturned, every wound will be healed
And we will be his ones, with Jesus as our seal

Dare you look into your heart, invite the savior in?
Let him shine his light into what has been so dim?
To meet him in that place where only he can deal
With all the grief and suffering that is so very real
He loves he loves he loves, there’s no conditions here
Let him be your rock in the nighttime of your fear.

Open open open, to the king of glorious light
Through Jesus there is victory, and new creations sight
To live a life that’s rests in the mercy of his hands
With Jesus and our brethren we can surely stand.

The Judge

I saw something on Twitter recently which really annoyed me, a man, claiming to be a christian, tweeted to Ricky Gervais that any good and real christian hated him! I can only assume this comment was due to the nature of Ricky's comedy, I won't mention the man's name for confidentiality reasons but I will give you a snippet that the words "Gods Law" was part of it.

I wonder how God feels when we mere specks of dust in comparison to him, take what we like from his written word and twist it and turn it to suit our own selfish opinions and personal gain, trying to in some way envelop the status of judge and completely missing out the other parts of his law like, "Do unto others as you would be done by" "Love your neighbor as yourself" and of course the words of Jesus "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone"
What happened to imitating the Jesus who in meekness and humility let himself be nailed to a cross to pay the price that was owed for our sins, because we are not good or righteous enough to pay it?!

I thank God that I know the Jesus who welcomes and longs for the friendship of all, whatever, whoever.

God's DNA

So here it is something I've been thinking about recently, if God was the beginning of all life, you know in the beginning etc etc, then can we ever be completely separated from him? I mean if we came from him, the beginning of all things, then is there not a link that cannot be forgotten? something irremovable? Sure it is sin that has the power to separate us from God and we feel that at times, but even if we have not accepted God as a part of our lives is something of his DNA still not entwined within the very core of us, of humanity?

I think so.....I think it comes alive when we accept Jesus as our savior, and what we were meant to be starts to become a reality, our new Godly nature coming to the forefront and our broken DNA being healed.
